Depending on how the MIS-SQL ActiveH application security and user roles are configured, the Keyfax hyperlink button in the MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH CRM, may or may not be enabled (the text 'Keyfax' or 'Keyfax' appears greyed out).
If the Keyfax hyperlink button in the MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH CRM is not enabled, it may be possible that the user is a member of a role which does not have the correct security rights to use the Keyfax integration.
The following details the steps to follow within the MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH Desktop application to give the user role permissions to access the Keyfax application.
Please note: Omfax Systems recommend that this process is carried out by an MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH administrator, as administrative rights will be required to access the security and roles maintenance screens
The MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH Desktop application is usually accessible from a desktop shortcut icon on the client PC. Click this icon to launch the MIS-AMS SQL Active Desktop.
If the MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH installation has more than one instance available, a "configurations" dialog will be displayed (see right). This may contain Live, Test and Training versions, all of which will need to be configured independently.
For this walk-through, the "Live" instance will be selected - Click the "OK" button to continue.
A login dialog will prompt yo for a valid username (ID) and password.
It is important that a MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH user account with administrative access to edit configurations is used for this process. In this case the "MIS" user account, once the details are entered - Click the "OK" button to continue.
We need to establish the role to which a specific user is a member of before the correct security settings can be applied. To do this we need to find out about the user....
From the Main MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH Desktop window, select the "Security Maintenance" item from the "Tasks" menu icon drop-down (see right).
The user details screen displays (see right). Now we need to search for a user - to do this we need to "open" a user by clicking on the open folder icon on the top button bar.
For the purposes of this, we are going to search for the user "MIS", so in the "Organisation" pop-up window, enter "mis" in the "Name" field and click "Find Now".
A list of matching users is returned, so select the one you are interested in, in this case "MIS User" and click the "Open" button.
The user details screen displays information about the current user (see right). At the bottom a list of roles to which the user is a member is displayed.
From this screen, we see that the "MIS User" is a member of the "All Access" role. Although this role would not typically be used by normal call centre users, for the purposes of this demonstration, we will use it to demonstrate the "Roles Maintenance".
Now we know the role which we want to assign the Keyfax hyperlink button permissions to we need to open the "Roles Maintenance" screen to search for the role....
From the Main MIS-AMS SQL ActiveH Desktop window, select the "Roles Maintenance" item from the "Tasks" menu icon drop-down (see right).
We are going to search for the role "All Access ", so in the "Organisation" pop-up window, enter "all" in the "Role Description " field and click "Find Now".
A list of matching roles is returned, so select the one you are interested in, in this case "All Access" and click the "Open" button.
The "Roles Maintenance" screen displays information about the current role (see right). On the left is a "Security Tasks" tree, which should be used to access the required task and sub-task.
Navigate the "Security Tasks" tree to access the required task. The Keyfax hyperlink button is located at: Global / Repair Finder /Repair Finder In the right-hand list, the "Repair Finder" task will be selected. Now click on one of the 3 "tick" icons over the list to assign the required permissions. The options are: Grey tick: Read Only Blue tick: Update Red tick: Full Control The permissions can also be set by selecting one of the above security levels from the list's right-click context sensitive menu.
