Making a video call from Keyfax using KeyNect...

And joining a call...

Recording Video
Recording video during a call is done via a straight forward button press on the Video Camera icon:

...once pressed the video is auto named (Video-00001.mp4) and stored against the call details. Subsequent recordings (there is no limit to the number of videos that can be recorded in a single video call session) have their number incremented. See below, in the Call Resources tab search result:

Clicking on a video resource in the 'Call Resources' search results gives the user access to preview the video and image resources:

From this pop up it is also possible to:
Click on the small round download icon on the right hand side of the resource button to download the image or video to the local machine (which can then be inserted into an email).
Right mouse click the resource button and select 'Copy URL' to get a URL link that can be pasted into an email or other software. Only users who have a license for KeyNect and have the correct permissions to your company's video resources may access this URL to view the video/image in question.
Taking Photographs
High resolution photographs can be taken by the desktop user using the remote mobile device's camera. These are often better quality than the moving pictures of the video so are useful once the main cause for the call has been found.
These are also available to view through the 'Call Resources' search results and preview/download features.
Operating the Mobile Device's Torch
It is possible to operate the mobile device's torch remotely from the desktop.
This does not stop the mobile user from operating it themselves (and it does switch off if powered on by the desktop user once the call is over).
When the mobile user is attempting to navigate their way in an airing cupboard or under the stairs this can ease the journey.
Muting Calls
The microphone can be muted at either end of the call.
For staff that believe they will always be in a telephone call with the mobile device before instigating a video call calls can be set to start with both microphones muted for the purposes of the video exchange, thus relying on the telephone audio only.
Hanging up the Call
When a call is hung up by either party both parties are sent back to their respective splash pages. At that point (and as long as the desktop caller remains in their splash page) the mobile device user can restart the call up to 15 minutes after the last 'hang up' of the call.
This ensures that if the call is hung up accidentally, or if low internet bandwidth causes the call to fail, the call can be restarted quickly and easily.
