Customising KeyNect
Ways to customise Keyfax KeyNect to suite your needs.
Many areas of the KeyNect web portal can be customised by a user in the KeyNect Customer Admin role (see 'KeyNect roles'). Most of this is done via the Customer Details section of the Keyfax KeyNect control panel: Information on the most important customisation settings is included below.
Call Classifiers
Call classifiers allow you to control the types of calls that can be initiated through Keyfax KeyNect. Keyfax KeyNect call classifiers can be customised via the Keyfax KeyNect control panel as shown below...

For additional information please see Call Classifiers
SMS and Email Messages
The SMS and email messages sent via Keyfax KeyNect can be customised via the Keyfax KeyNect control panel...

Design and Defaults
The design of Keyfax KeyNect pages and default settings can be customised via the Keyfax KeyNect control panel...

Two or One Way Calls, Audio Only Calls + Quality Settings
KeyNect can be configured to treat groups of calls differently using Call Classifiers. Call Classifiers can only be edited by Customer Admins. This is the default call classifier:

The settings are as follows:
Name of the Classifier
Notification Email Address - if a One Way call (i.e. mobile device user has requested to record video or audio to be emailed to a member of staff) this email address is notified when a new message has arrived
Allowed length of One Way Call (in seconds) - the maximum length of a One Way call recording
Thank you page HTML - the HTML displayed once a One Way call is completed by either hanging up or getting to the end of the allotted time
Get GPS Location from mobile - if set this will request the mobile to send it's GPS location to be recorded alongside the Video Call session details. This can then be viewed in Google or Bing maps (or another mapping solution) via a link in the Call Results page
Map Link Formatter - this is used on the Call Resources search results page as the link address of the mapping system used to display the call location - the default is to google maps
Audio Bit Rate - the audio bit rate used to record the audio (higher is better quality, but can cause issues in low bandwidth areas) (a workable rate has been tested and entered as the default)
Video bit rate - the higher the better the video quality - once again, too high and issues can be caused in low bandwidth areas (a workable rate has been tested and entered as the default)
Frames per second - the number of frames per second that are used to create the video - more frames mean smoother video recording - too high and issues can be caused in low bandwidth areas (a workable rate has been tested and entered as the default)
Video Compression Chunk Length - the sampling time between storage of video data, higher can mean better compression but can cause issues in low bandwidth areas (a workable rate has been tested and entered as the default)
Video Frame Height/Width - the pixel size of the video image. Keeping this small reduces the bandwidth used. Higher values can cause issues in low bandwidth areas (a workable rate has been tested and entered as the default)
KeyNect Roles
There are three roles available to KeyNect customers:
Customer Admin: Can edit the configuration for the customer, including splash page customisations for desktop and mobile, also able to do any of the actions of the other two roles
Customer User: Can create calls using Keyfax or KeyNect, can search for their own calls and view call resources of their own calls (videos and images)
Customer Read-Only User: Cannot make calls, but can search for calls and view call resources of any user (videos and images)
